The player and partner are sent to the Door of Light by Mawile while she and the Legendary Beasts keep fighting the Void Shadows. After meeting with Raikou, Entei and Suicune, the team finally makes their way to Reverse Mountain and reach the Door of Light. They find Archen, Dedenne, Mawile and Buizel along the way and learn about Dark Matter, an entity that makes up the planet's crisis, and Void Shadows, who some of the members are captured by when making the way to the Door of Light. The player and partner awake at the Voidlands where Pokémon that were turned into stone are sent to. He then summons Yveltal to turn all the other Pokémon into stone, as well as using up all the Luminous Water. As it is being pursued, the player opens the barrier, and soon Nuzleaf reveals that he is actually the one that causes Pokémon to turn into stone. At the summit lies a spring of Luminous Water being sealed by a barrier that is said to only to be able to be opened by a human, and Krookodile, Saikou and Suicune appears.
They arrive at Serene Village, have Nuzleaf joined, and go up Revelation Mountain, where the patrolling Pokémon are defeated earlier. The Expedition Society then decides to split into two teams, with the player's to seek for Krookodile, a gangstar that is suspected to be the one behind the petrification of Pokémon. It is later discovered that Entei was petrified. Later, the planet is become hotter, and Legendary Pokémon is told to be threatened to turn into stone. During the battle against Entei, the Harmony Scarves worn by the player and partner glows, and they evolve for an amount of time, allowing both to defeat Entei. The next day, the Expedition Society decides to go to Fire Island Volcano for a trip, but Entei appears at the summit of the volcano, which is the destination of the trip. Entei briefly appears and then disappears. One night, the player and partner leave Serene Village, and eventually arrive at Lively Town and join the Expedition Society.ĭuring an expedition, it is discovered that a Latias and Latios are turned into stone and crashlanded on Mystical Forest in the Air Continent. At the summer vacation, Nuzleaf plans to go to Revelation Mountain, although it is patrolled by other Pokémon and is therefore inaccesible. He soon takes the player to the village's school, where the player can meet the partner Pokémon, a troublemaker whose dream is to join the Expedition Society and create a map of the Pokémon world.ĭuring the school days, the partner gives the player a Harmony Scarf as the partner has a pair of them, and the player and partner have several adventures, meet Ampharos, the chief of Expedition Society. A trio of Beheeyem attacks the player, and the player comes across a Nuzleaf who helps the player to escape the Beheeyem and bring it to Serene Village, his hometown. The player character awakes at a world inhabited solely by Pokémon, finding out that it has been turned to a Pokémon, although having no memories asade from previously being human. However, same as the previous Mystery Dungeon games, when choosing a new partner, one is unable to choose a Pokémon which is the same type as the player.
Similarly, the game will also choose the partner Pokémon, but the player is able to choose another. After taking the Pokémon Quiz in the beginning of the game, the player is able to either accept the Pokémon the quiz selected, or deny it to choose a different one. In Super Mystery Dungeon, there are 20 different Pokémon that the player can start as, which includes all of the starter Pokémon of the main regions up to Generation VI, as well as Pikachu and Riolu. The Progress Device is introduced that allows the player to save in a dungeon.Wands, a type of stackable items, are introduced.Soon the Mega Evolved Pokémon will go berserk which lasts for a few turns, but it can be prevented by an Air Looplet. Mega Evolution is introduced, achieved by finding an Awakening Emera and then put it to a Looplet held by a Pokémon that can Mega Evolve.increasing stats and prevent certain status conditions. Putting Emeras into Looplets can give the Looplet's holder different effects, e.g. Some Pokémon can be connected once talked to, and some can be connected along with other Pokémon at the same time.Instead of recruiting, the player connects with other Pokémon by completing requests, displayed in the Connection Orb.
